Jolanda Adelaar gained global recognition in the 2000s with her remarkable fjord horse, Super Guus, famously called “The fjord that can do it all” during a special act at the 2006 FEI World Cup Dressage. A “farm horse” thriving in top-tier sports, Super Guus inspired many. “My company has carried his name for twenty years,” Jolanda shared. “His life held an important message that I will continue to honor.” With dual nationality—Dutch from her father and Italian from her mother—Jolanda blends resilience and passion in her trailblazing career. In 2023, she won Holland’s Got Horsemanship and made history as the first rider to compete in Grand Prix dressage with a Murgese horse, an old Italian horse breed. She also represented the Netherlands at the WAWE European Championships Working Equitation and earned bronze at the 2024 Dutch Nationals at Master level. Jolanda’s story is one of breaking barriers and inspiring change in the equestrian world.
